Q.
What does it cost?
A. Weekly match fees are between £25-28, discounts are available
to those that pay a season upfront. For those that pay weekly
a deposit of £100 is required which is refundable at the end
of the season.
Q How do teams pay?
A. Cash on the night. Post a cheque. Credit/debit cards acceptable
by phone. Pay the seasons fees in full with a 10 % discount
or 50% upfront and 50% at the half way point of the season
with a 5% discount.
Q. How long do the leagues run for?
A. Each team will play one another twice so an average league
will run for 14 weeks.
At the end of the 14 week season, the next
season will commence the following week or fortnight.
Most of our leagues run for 3 seasons annually,
enabling players to enjoy 5-a-side all year round!
Q. How many teams are there in each
league?
A. Most leagues will consist of 8 teams although this may
vary.
Q. How long are the games?
Matches comprise of two 14 minute halves.
Q. Is there a limit on the number
of players a team can register?
A. You may register as many players as you want throughout
the season on the condition that the players do not play for
another team in the same league.
Q. How many players can be used
in one match?
A. 8 players can be used for 5-a-side and 9 players can be
used for 6-a-side. In both cases 3 substitutes are allowed
on a roll on / roll off basis.
Q. What happens if a team doesn’t
turn up?
A. The league co-ordinator will try to arrange a friendly
free of charge and any match fees paid for the game will be
refunded.
Q. Must all teams have a kit?
A. Not necessarily but we do request that teams endeavour
to have matching colours, bibs will be provided in the event
of a colour clash. We also refer all teams searching for a
kit to our competitive kit shop where teams can purchase a
kit from as little as £59 per team.
Q. Do the leagues have promotion
and relegation?
A. Yes, 2 teams are promoted and relegated from a league,
but if we find a team to have struggled throughout the season
we will place them in a league that best suits their level
of performance.
Q. Do Winners and Runners Up get
medals and a Trophy?
A. At the end of the season the winners will receive a trophy
and individual player medals and the runners up will each
receive medals.
Q. We haven’t played 5-a-side before?
A. Most of the current teams playing in our leagues come from
local companies, communities or groups of friends who just
want to enjoy a competitive game of football and use the occasion
as an excuse to get away from their partners for an evening
of football, followed by a drink with the lads!
Our variety of leagues will ensure that
you will be placed in a league that best meets your level.
Q. What time do matches kick off?
A. K.O. times usually range from 7pm to 9.30pm
If a team cannot make specific dates & times, they need
to inform us 2 weeks before the fixtures list are sent out
as once the fixtures list have been sent out games will not
be rescheduled.
Q. Are the leagues affiliated?
A. Yes. All Azzurri leagues are affiliated to the local County
Football Association.
Q. What type of footwear is allowed?
A. Standard trainers & astro-trainers are required.
Rubber moulded boots are permitted on some pitches – please
refer to your league rules and regulations for more info.
Metal & plastic moulded boots are not allowed!
Q. Are shin pads compulsory?
A. Yes. Players who do not have shin pads will not be allowed
to play.
Q. How will teams know when and
where they will be playing?
A. League games will always be at the same venue and on the
same night of the week. Full season fixture lists will be
sent to the registered team managers before the start of the
season via post and email. Our website will also have up to
date info on all our leagues, fixtures, tables & rules.
All league tables and results are updated within 24 hours.
