Chris Ingram - Chairman
Chris was educated at Woking Grammar School, before leaving school at 16 to become an errand boy in an ad agency.
He has spent over 40 years of his business life in the media communications and marketing industry. He is regarded as the inventor of the modern media agency, having started CIA in 1976 and built it into an international, publicly-quoted business (Tempus Group) with 67 offices and over £2 billion turnover. The business was sold to WPP in 2001 for £430 million.
Under the name IngramEnterprise, he now helps companies build their businesses and their brands in the media; communications and sport & leisure sectors. He specifically advises and invests in companies in the UK, USA and China.
In 2000, Chris was voted UK Business to Business Entrepreneur of the Year in Ernst & Young’s awards, having earlier been London Entrepreneur of the Year. In July 2007 Chris was made an Honorary Fellow of London Business School. Chris is owner of Woking Football Club, since acquiring the Club in 2002.
Keith Smith - Non-Executive Director
Keith spent a career working for Unilever in the Food Industry, in Senior Management positions, firstly at Birds Eye Walls where he was responsible for Sales Personnel & Training, Regional Sales Management and latterly as Account Director. He headed a new Unilever venture, County Fair Foods, and was responsible for building and developing the brand in the Retail & Foodservice Markets. With the amalgamation of Unilever Foodservice companies, he became Director of Sales in the new Van den Bergh Foodservice Division.
Since retiring, Keith has continued to work as a consultant and NED for a variety of small and medium sized businesses and spend much of his time, working in and for his local community. He was appointed senior advisor to the Surrey Business Enterprise, a mentor to the Prince’ Trust and was panel chairman of County Sound Radio. He was appointed to the Board of the Surrey Ambulance Service where he was chairman of the remuneration committee and chairman of SAFE, the fund raising arm of the service. He spent 3 years as Consultant Director to St Johns Ambulance.
Mike Brunwin - Non-Executive Director
Spent more than 35 years in Public Relations, Sports Sponsorship & Marketing Consultancy. Having starting life as a magazine journalist he moved to Borg Warner to edit in-house papers and then was seduced into the consultancy world.
As a director of Michael Rice & Co (at that time the largest independent consultancy in London) acted for a number of years for Middle East Governments, Unilever, Rothmans Group & Peter Stuyvesant Arts Foundation. First introduction to sponsorship was the launch of the Wentworth Match Play Tournament and then the Rothmans International Cavaliers who popularised one day cricket.
Michael was with West Nally as Business Development Director, during a period when the firm is attributed with creating the modern sponsorship business. Ran the British Olympic Commercial Appeal to fund training and the team costs; helped developed many of the major sponsorship programmes created for clients such as BP, Benson & Hedges, Adidas, Ford, Esso, Kraft, FIFA World Cup, RFU, LTA. & the Coca-Cola/FIFA World Soccer Development programme.
